Monica and I would just like to update you on our camino trip so far! I´m typing this from a new Albrgue in Belarado. Its the first one we have found that has a swimming pool!
We started our Camino from St Jean PdP with great haste since we had a tight schedule to keep track of. But after pushing it quite hard for the first 7 days, our feet are really sore and full of blisters and our calf muscles are dead. SO yesterday we made the decision to rather really cut down on the kilometers we walk each day, and enjoy the rest of what Spain has to offer us, and just make up the rest of the time by catching the bus.
We realise this isn´t the ideal way to do the Camino, but it is definately not the last time we´ll be doing it. SO we can do it properly the next time.
But what a great experience it has been already. We have met some really unique and interesting people. Including 2 South African ladies (from Montague), who became famous for arriving late at Roncesvalles and having to resort to sleeping on the floor. We heard about this 2 days before actually meeting them on the route.
If you are planning to do this journey, I recommend being as helpful and polite as you can to the volunteers who work at the albergues, as their job is probably just as taxing as doing the Camino itself!
I would also just like to mention that we have used our green bin bags that CSJoSA issued us, and I was very proud to see one of the bags displayed at an albergue in Grañon.
Unfortunately today the weather is turning very cloudy and looks like rain is forcast  Not what we expected for Summer in Spain! Hehehe...
