Will anyone staying over in the albergue at El Ganso please check up on the dog tied up at the back of the albergue, not part of the albergue, an old Alsation. I heard it whine when I stayed over during August 2009, went looking for it and found it tied up under a piece of corrugated iron, no water or food, walked to the church and found a contained, gave him 4 litres of water, which he gulped up. The dogs in the rural areas are only seen as watchdogs and kept chained-up under terrible conditions. The sight of this poor animal was heartbreaking. Please see that he has water and food. He must belong to a farmer in the area.
